Our children are growing-up in the midst of a post-postmodern world… Where “Your truth is yours,” and “My truth is mine.” It’s a “You do you” culture in which emotions lead the way, personal preferences define what is relevant, and where “You are enough” is the (Gnostic-like) prescription for every burdened heart. But you and I know the Truth… and it isn’t a preference, an opinion, or an emotion…He is a Person. (John 14:6)

As parents, it’s essential that we acknowledge our need for the Gospel (Gal 2:20). Despite what the culture tells us, we need to remember that we are far from enough. Gals, that’s why Jesus came! (Romans 5:8) He was and is enough FOR us! Yielding to the sufficiency of Jesus is paramount as a mama. Our children don’t ask us to be strong…We put that expectation upon ourselves. What we perceive as loving: “being strong for our children,” could actually hinder them from knowing true strength. What our children desperately need isn’t our perfect performance, but to witness Jesus’s strength instead. We are not their savior…Jesus is. They genuinely need to observe God’s Grace carrying us humbly through the trials of life, day-in and day-out (Eph 4-5)… forgiving, praying, correcting, and repenting.
