Leave it all in His Hands

Over the past few years, our family has been on an wonderful learning adventure regarding plants (Botany). We have gleaned a great deal about God through this extended time of study, and one of those lessons has been witnessing how trees point to His faithful provision. Not only do trees add extraordinary beauty to the world around us, as well as provide needed shade and shelter, but they also foster stability for our soil and fresh air for us to breathe. Let’s focus for now upon the leaves.🍁 In His wisdom, God fashioned structures within each leaf called, Stomatas. “Stoma” is latin for “mouth.” What these tiny mouths do is take-in the carbon dioxide we exhale and create two things- 1) sugar for the tree and 2) fresh oxygen for us to breathe.

I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.

Leafs have “mouths?!” How cool is that! This incredible tidbit about leaves 🍃 is but one example of the loving intentionality of God. He wasn’t flippant with the details of Creation, and the same is true today… in this very moment, regarding the details of your day. We can pour-out our hearts to Him in prayer (1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 62:8)… all of our worries and concerns can be placed in God’s hands. Just as the leaf was thoughtfully fashioned to receive our exhalation and create new Oxygen in return, God encourages us to bring our concerns to Him in prayer…helping us to rely upon Him for strength and perspective.

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.

Psalm 62:8

Much Love,

Mer
