Scripture was given by God—who created humanity with the ability to communicate—to humanity, through humanity, and for humanity. It is an act of love by a personal and intentional God who desires to make Himself known to us.

Therefore, as the earliest Christians recognized, the Holy Spirit cannot contradict Scripture, for He is the very Spirit who inspired it. And because Scripture was given for our instruction, it gives us endurance, encouragement, and hope—ultimately pointing us to Christ, our hope, and to all He has done for us.
